Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins is a student of the NFL game, and recently, he showed off that high football IQ as he broke down some game tape.
Whether you disagree with some of what he says or not, you have to admire his passion for what he believes. Whether you’re a fan of his or not (if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you’re most certainly the former), you have to admire and respect his game. Sometimes, to completely give Malcolm Jenkins his due, you sometimes have to start using slang, or it won’t come out right.
’27’ is that dude!
Any audio clip or interview with Philly’s safety and leader on defense will probably convince you that you could listen to this guy talk for hours. Any visual clip almost makes you feel like suiting up. If the Eagles were The Avengers, Jenkins would be Iron Man. That can be taken both figuratively and literally,
He played every defensive snap of the 2018 season. Intellectually, he’s Tony Starks, and that high football IQ was on display recently when he sat down with Brian Baldinger and Ron Jaworski to discuss the art of creating turnovers on defense.
This one’s worth a look.

That’s awesome stuff. Remember, you were warned. Throughout camp, as he is every Spring and Summer, Jenkins has been, kind of, a coach with pads on. He’s also been an example of how to do things the right way.
Though there were issues with his current deal, he still showed up to camp on time. He, often, can be seen providing post-practice advice to the young guys on the team. He fires up the competitive nature of his teammates, both on offense and defense. He’s one of the best safeties in the game; and even as a two-time Super Bowl winner at 31 years of age, he’s still looking for ways to fire himself up.
Oh, you don’t believe that? Just check his Twitter account or ask Pro Football Focus. The Eagles are lucky to have him. Hopefully, he’ll finish his career in green.
