The 5th annual CNY Regional VEX IQ Robotics Challenge will be on Saturday.
The 2019 theme is Next Level.
Each year, the challenge is different and requires participants to work together in teams to carry out tasks with robots built and programmed by students.
The challenge uses a VEX IQ Robotics kit designed for kids as young as eight years old to use.
There are structural pieces that snap together and come apart without tools, which allow for quick building times and easy modifications.
VEX IQ Robotics is for students in fourth through eighth grades, and teams are between two and six kids.
As many as 40 teams will be competing.
Teams can also enter the STEM research project competition, and this year’s topic is: Robotic Technology in the Community.
